Man surrenders after threatening family of Niles' mayor

NILES, Ohio - The man wanted for threatening the Niles Mayor's family turned himself in Thursday morning.

Edward Kapturasky, 38, surrendered himself to authorities in Columbus.

Kapturasky is accused of sending text messages containing threats to Mayor Infante's family members.  He is related to the mayor's step-daughter.

Kapturasky is being held in the Franklin County Jail, and is expected to be transferred to the Trumbull County Jail on Friday.

    A second Community Opioid Summit was held at the Covelli Center in downtown Youngstown on Wednesday. The event was sponsored by the Mahoning County Juvenile Court Advisory Board and the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
