GIRARD, Ohio -

She grew up here in the valley, and then went on to spend ten years on one of television's most popular shows of all time.

Now, Girard High School graduate, Kathleen Bradley is on tour promoting her new tell-all book. The book is titled, "Backstage At The Price Is Right, Memoirs of a Barker Beauty".

At a luncheon at the Girard Multi-Generational Center Wednesday, Bradley talked about moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. She was crowned Miss Black California in 1971, and in 1990, she became the first permanent African-American model on the television show, "The Price Is Right". It ended in 2000, when the show was rocked by a sex scandal and lawsuits involving host Bob Barker.

"We told our truth, as we knew it, but wasn't obviously the truth according to Bob. A couple of months later, I was let go," said Bradley.

Bradley said she wanted to include her home town in her eastern U.S. book tour before heading back to L.A. and her husband of 25 years.
