LISBON, Ohio -

An elderly handicapped man is safe after he says he was assaulted inside his Lisbon home.

26-year-old Jared Coil of Lisbon is charged with felonious assault and having weapons while intoxicated for jumping on 72-year-old Robert Marshall. Authorities say Coil jumped on Marshall while he was in bed on Wednesday, held him down and took his .380 handgun from under his covers.

Coil allegedly was having a dispute with another man in the home and began firing the weapon. When the gun jammed, Coil then allegedly attacked the elderly man again in search of his .45 caliber gun.

Robert Marshall says, "He pushed me down, tried to grab my other one (gun) and I fought with him for a while, but I'm just not in fighting shape. ... And then he grabbed it and ran out and started shooting again."

Upon investigation deputies learned that Coil shot at Nicholas Burson.

Marshall says Coil and Burson had both been staying at his home to help him out because of his disability.
