Museum still in need of funds to purchase former first lady's tiara

Posted: Updated:

CANTON, Ohio - You might remember a story we brought to you a little more than a week ago about how the William McKinley Museum is trying to raise funds to buy First Lady Ida McKinley's tiara from the famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.

The tiara was featured in a March 7th episode of the History Channel's "Pawn Stars."

The museum has until June 24th to buy the tiara for $43,000.

Now, one month away from that deadline it has raised a little more than $35,000, about $8,000 away from its goal.
