Speed limit has still not been reduced at Route 11 work zone

Posted: Updated:

It's been five days since we last reported on that stretch of Route 11 that's being worked on but does not have a reduced speed limit.

We discovered today that it is still 70 miles per hour in that work zone.

21 News contacted the Ohio Department of Transportation on Tuesday and they tell us they are still in the process of reducing the speed limit but need to finalize some paperwork.

When contacted last week about this, ODOT said they do not normally reduce the speed limit for resurfacing projects like this one, but since there's been one accident in the zone already, ODOT officials decided to reconsider their policy.
