Akron Children’s Hospital launches KIDJAM! Radio

Posted: Updated:
AKRON, Ohio -

It's the first radio station of its kind in northern Ohio. The KIDJAM! Radio Broadcast Recording Studio opened Friday afternoon at Akron Children's Hospital.

With help from the staff at 90.7 The Summit, patients will be able to act as radio hosts and record personal messages in the studio.

The recordings will then be edited and given to each patient's family.

“A lot of these kids are very sick. Some of them may not leave the hospital. So the opportunity for them is to have a keepsake, something they will have forever," said Tommy Bruno, general manager of The Summit.

The recordings will also be edited into a segment which will air on KIDJAM! radio every Saturday morning. KIDJAM! radio can be heard online and through the KIDJAM! Phone app.
