The state track and field meet is wrapping up day one of competition in Columbus and there is some good news for a couple of athletes.
McDonald's Jai'Lynn Mosely won a pair of state championships in the discus and shot put. In the discus her toss of 157 feet was nearly a half foot better than the runner up, and in the shot put, her throw was just over 40 feet.
Teammate Tory Ross finished fourth in the discus, with a heave of just over 143 feet, and fourth in the shot put.
Hubbard's Matt Jones finished fourth in the shot put. His throw of just over 54 feet was less than 10 inches off the championship throw.
