Rocker Rod Stewart to play the Covelli Centre

Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20 for a single performance of  rock icon Rod Stewart at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown.

Stewart, who has had many hits including Maggie May and You Wear it Well, will perform August 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the 5,700 seat venue. Ticket prices range from $175 to $46.50, and will be available at ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Covelli Centre Executive Director Eric Ryan announced on WFMJ Today Monday that he has been trying to land Stewart for four years now, and up until two weeks ago, Ryan didn't think it was going to happen.

Ryan says the tickets are in the same price range as those for the last Elton John performance, which was sold out.

Like Elton John, Ryan says Stewart will be the sole artist, with no opening act.

Stewart is currently on a three month world tour.
