Youngstown police identify victim and driver in Cornersburg fatality

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown traffic investigators are still gathering information about an accident that left one person dead after she was pinned beneath a car in Cornersburg.

Police identify the victim as Loretta Lewis, 69, of Canfield, and the driver as Glenn Thom, 79, of Youngstown.

Witnesses told 21 News the woman was walking through the parking lot outside the Cornersburg Sparkle Market late Thursday, when the car hit her while it was pulling out of a parking spot.

She was trapped beneath the vehicle, which then struck the building.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not said if any charges will be filed in the case.
