Mahoning County Sheriff Department watching for overloaded trucks

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The Mahoning County Sheriff's Department is once again partnering with the County Engineer's Office, this time to make sure trucks traveling through the community aren't overloaded.

The Load-Scale Enforcement Program will make sure trucks aren't running over their weight limits and causing unnecessary wear and tear on Valley roadways.

"What we're really trying to do is just enforce. And make sure these trucks aren't necessarily breaking down the roads in our community, that us and our community, we just can't afford to repair," said Sheriff Jerry Greene, Mahoning County Sheriff's Department.

The program will basically be funded by the fines that will be generated from enforcement.
