EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio -

A man suspected of stealing a cash register from an East Liverpool business has been arrested.

27-year-old Herbert Jones of Midland, Pennsylvania is being held in the Beaver County jail on charges of receiving stolen property, retail theft, resisting arrest, and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Center Township Police arrested Jones after East Liverpool police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Investigators believe that Jones is the man pictured on video surveillance, trying to grab a cash register from the Walnut Street Dollar General Thursday night.

Dollar General employees say the suspect fled after failing to take the register out of the store.

Police say that within ten minutes, a man fitting the same description was successful in stealing the cash register from Gilkinson's Short Stop on Avondale East Street.
