Feds charge East Liverpool man with bank robbery

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, Ohio -

A Federal Grand Jury has indicted an East Liverpool man for allegedly robbing a Columbiana County bank.

Saint Clair Township police arrested 41-year-old Brian Johnston shortly after the  Home Savings and Loan branch in Glenmoor was held up on May 29.

The teller tells investigators that a white male handed her a note demanding money. She says that after complying with the demand, the suspect drove away in a pickup truck.

The officer who pulled Johnston over on Y&O Road shortly after the robbery, says he found a large amount of currency inside his truck.
