One suspect accused of stealing from the elderly surrenders to Weathersfield police

Posted: Updated:
WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -

Weathersfield police say one of two men wanted for allegedly stealing from an elderly woman has surrendered to authorities.  Authorities say that Christopher Davis and James Davis are charged with theft from the elderly.

Christopher Davis turned himself in on Thursday. A judge set bond at $2,500 dollars before Davis was taken to the  Trumbull County  jail.

On May 24, a woman told officers that she hired Christopher Davis to work on a project in her yard.  The alleged victim claims that while she was outside, Davis went into her home.

Davis came back outside and told the homeowner that he had to leave. The woman says that after she went back inside the home, she discovered that money was missing.

On June 6, the same woman told police that James Davis, the father of Chris Davis, came to her home looking for work.  She says she allowed James Davis to help her with the project in the yard.

The woman says that while she was outside, James Davis entered the house and stole items that police have not identified.

James Davis is still being sought.  Investigators are asking anyone knowing his whereabouts to contact the Weathersfield Twp. Police Department at 330-675-2730.
