Champion man convicted of assaulting estranged wife

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

A jury has convicted a Champion man on charges of felonious assault and trespassing after his wife says he attacked her, hoping to make her death look like a suicide.

The verdict came down in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Thursday, barely three hours after the jury got the case of 36-year-old Christopher Dellick.

Rebecca Dellick told jurors her estranged husband attacked her, cut her thigh, and choked her several times until she was unconscious.

Dellick was found not guilty of burglary, kidnapping and abduction.

Judge Andrew Logan will sentence Dellick on July 15.
