Award Winning Producers Set to Release First Triathlon Feature Documentary, Challenge Roth

Posted: Updated:

The Academy Award winning producer of documentaries, Spirit of the Marathon and Spirit of the Marathon II, Mark Jonathan Harris is executive producing a new documentary about the Challenge Roth Triathlon, the world’s largest long distance triathlon. When released, Challenge Roth will be the first feature documentary about a triathlon to be distributed in theaters nationally. The film will follow six diverse athletes from around the globe as they prepare for and complete this herculean race which involves 140.6 miles of swimming, biking, and running.

Mark Jonathan Harris has assembled a talented and veteran team of film producers including Emmy award winning composer Jeff Beal, co-executive producer Peter Henning who previously produced NBC annual Ironman World Championship Telecast, and Gwendolen Twist who produced Spirit of the Marathon and Spirit of the Marathon II. The athletes showcased in Challenge Roth include 2-time Ironman world champion Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae and 6-time Ironman Champion Luke McKenzie, as well as Paralympics Gold Medalist Rudy Garcia-Tolson. Like many of the best sports documentaries, Challenge Roth intends to depict the enormous challenges that athletes must overcome and the indomitable human spirit that propels them to win.

Just like the race itself, the production of a feature length documentary is fraught with obstacles. It requires immense preparation and hard work to create a high caliber documentary. In order to produce an outstanding film, the producers of Challenge Roth are asking the public to help support this important project. A new campaign on Indiegogo is asking for financial contributions which will be used to pay for top notch film personnel, production equipment, editing, and post-production. With the assistance of fans, sports enthusiasts and film lovers, Challenge Roth can be a truly spectacular cinematic work of art.
