“PCI 3.x SRED certified key pad and MagStripe reader, the SREDKey”

Cypress, California (June 27th, 2014) - ID TECH, a leading manufacturer of automated data entry, mobile payment, point of sale, and secure payment devices, has released its PCI 3.x SRED certified key pad and MagStripe reader, the SREDKey.

Meeting PCI-PTS certifications, the SREDKey ensures secure reading and exchange of data (SRED) to protect consumers’ financial information at the point of payment acceptance. While supporting TDES and AES data encryption using DUKPT key management, the SREDKey ensures all data transactions are protected as they move from point-to-point to reduce fraudulent activity.

“This is an ideal product for anyone looking to protect their customers’ card data. Regardless of if the card data is collected through a swipe or if it is input by hand, the data is encrypted inside this PCI SRED certified device prior to be transmitted on,” stated Bill Rorick, Vice President of Product Management & Marketing at ID TECH. “This is another important step for ID TECH as we continue to increase security across our entire product line.”

Similar to the SecureKey M130, each SREDKey is assigned a unique serial number for tracking purposes and has several operational security levels allowing the user to select the security profile suitable for the application.

“The SREDKey is an upgraded version of the SecureKey M130 with physical security protection to prevent card data compromise. Also, its backwards compatibility with the SecureKey M130 makes it a perfect product for clients who want to replace the SecureKey M130 with the SREDKey in the field” stated ID TECH’s product manager, Candy Han.

Ideal for the hospitality industry, healthcare industry, and call centers, the SREDKey provides a secure and convenient solution for operators to manually enter credit card data in card-not-present situations. The comfortable size and tactile feel of the keys allow for easy data entry. The SREDKey’s guaranteed operating life of a minimum of 1,000,000 card swipes and key entries provides merchants with the confidence of a durable and secure POS solution.
