Columbiana Mental Health Clinic receives funding for residential programs

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ohio -

The Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has received half a million dollars to fund housing projects in Columbiana County.

The Ohio Controlling Board approved $500,000 for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to benefit community housing for mental health patients in Lisbon and East Liverpool.

The Columbiana Mental Health Clinic plans to use the funds to purchase and build permanent housing units for ten single adults who have mental health disabilities or substance abuse disorders. The housing will focus on individuals who are homeless and have had difficulty remaining stable in the community.

The housing will include on site supervision, will be ADA accessible, and will have meeting rooms to be used for counseling.

The Columbiana Mental Health Clinic will offer various, voluntary support and counseling programs through these residential programs.
