Trial ordered in shooting death at NW Pa. party

Posted: Updated:

ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A northwestern Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial in the shooting death of his childhood friend at a party with a gun that he said he didn't know was loaded.

The Erie County Times (http://bit.ly/1qbZRJN ) reports that an Erie County judge held charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and reckless endangering against 23-year-old Aladin Jojic in the April shooting death of 23-year-old Abram Sorek.

A witness testified Monday that he told Jojic that the gun was loaded and asked him to take it back into the house, but later heard a shot and found Sorek wounded.

Jojic told investigators in a recorded interview played in court that he had been drinking, was playing with the gun and didn't think it was pointing at Sorek when it discharged.
