COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A 20-year-old central Ohio man is facing life in prison after a jury convicted him of murder in the stabbing death of his mother last year.
Robert L. Lindsey IV told the jury he fatally stabbed 41-year-old Latonia Banner in self-defense. But the jury in Columbus convicted him of murder, meaning he'll be sentenced to life in prison - with a chance of parole after 15 years - when he faces a judge again Aug. 6.
He was acquitted of a more serious charge of aggravated murder.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1nwahfe ) reports that Lindsey claimed in court that he stabbed Banner during an angry confrontation in his bedroom at their townhome in February 2013.
