COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - State officials say they have forwarded allegations of sexual misconduct, test tampering and other possible criminal misdeeds at a Dayton charter school to the proper authorities.
Ohio Department of Education spokesman John Charlton said Thursday teachers who testified Tuesday were debriefed and their complaints were shared with Montgomery County Children's Services and Dayton police.
Charlton says educators statewide must immediately report abuse they witness under state law.
Four former teachers at Horizon Science Academy in Dayton gave the state school board accounts of sex games, racist slurs and test tampering at the school.
Ohio Auditor Dave Yost also has opened an investigation at the request of the Ohio Education Association, the state's largest teachers' union. Yost says newer allegations corroborate older claims his office learned of last winter.
