HOKENDAUQUA, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania are investigating a shooting that involved two state constables.
Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin says the constables were serving parking warrants Thursday when the shooting occurred at about 7:30 a.m. in Whitehall Township.
Authorities say 38-year-old Kevin Christopher McCullers sustained a single gunshot wound and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital.
McCullers was reportedly in his garage when a constable entered. Police say McCullers tried to back out of the garage, and that both constables fired.
The shooting is being investigated by local detectives, county detectives and the Pennsylvania State Police.
Martin says interviews are being conducted to determine whether criminal charges are warranted and whether the use of deadly force was justified.
