HERMITAGE, Pa. -

A Hermitage man has died following an incident with a truck and trailer.

Police say an Aqua Water Company employee was backing up a truck with a trailer attached along Richmond Drive when he heard a thump.

The employee found 87-year-old James Ulan on the ground with an apparent ankle injury.  Ulan was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center where he died a short time later.

The employee told authorities he was unaware that Ulan was sitting on the bumper of the truck prior to the incident.

Hermitage police are investigating the accident.
