City of Youngstown providing financial assistance for building renovation

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

The city of Youngstown is providing financial assistance for another major renovation of a downtown building.

On Tuesday, the board of control signed off on the closing documents for the $16-million Wick Towers project.

The city is providing the developer with a short-term, $2.3 million loans to complete the renovation.

“This was some interim financing that they needed in order to move forward with the project and was based on the tax credits that were offered by state,” said Youngstown economic development director T. Sharon Woodberry.

The Wick Towers will have 32 fully furnished, up-scale apartments and is now accepting pre-leasing agreements.

A grand opening is expected next spring or early summer.
