Cortland police caution drivers against using wrong way detour

Posted: Updated:
CORTLAND, Ohio - Cortland police say the bridge going across the creek on E. Main St. will be closed for replacement starting Monday.

Walnut Drive will still be open, but it is a one way street.

According to a post on the department Facebook page, drivers who try to slip though traveling the wrong way to save one minute could cost $100 in fines and court costs. The alternate routes are Willow, Colonial and Ridge Rd. The bridge will be out for possibly five months.

The work is the beginning of a $1.4 million project to replace the Main St. bridge between SR 5 and Walnut St. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August 2015.
