State presents case against son of Mahoning County judge

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -

Trial got underway in Municipal Court Monday for the son of Mahoning County judge Theresa Dellick.

Twenty-year-old John Dellick is charged with aggravated menacing for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend Natalie Noday and her companions on the YSU campus in November.

Noday is among a dozen or so witnesses subpoenaed to testify in the trial on the misdemeanor charge.

The prosecution finished presenting it's case by 2:30 p.m. on Monday, making way for the defense.

Dellick is also scheduled to go on trial this month in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on nine criminal charges, including felonious assault, ethnic intimidation, aggravated menacing, kidnapping and abduction.

The indictment that brought those charges stem from two separate incidents.  The first occurred in July of last year when Noday claimed that Dellick smashed her face against a car during an argument outside a restaurant in Canfield.

The second incident occurred last October, when Dellick allegedly rammed his jeep into the back of a car containing a Boardman couple following a confrontation at Route 224 and Tippecanoe Road in Canfield.

Defense attorneys are asking the visiting judge assigned to that case to split the proceedings into two separate cases.
