Youngstown man wins top Ohio Lottery prize

A resident of Youngstown won the top prize drawing on an Ohio Lottery instant game.

The Ohio Lottery Commission says that Thomas Surko won $100,000 in the Special Edition Cashword prize drawing held July 17, 2014.

After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent, Surko receives $71,000.

Surko purchased the $5,500 semi-finalist entry ticket at BP, 2069 E. Midlothian Blvd in Youngstown.

BP receives a $1,000 agent bonus for selling a semi-finalist winning ticket.
