Communities consider spending on Golden Triangle study

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio - Two Trumbull County communities are working together to potentially attract new businesses to a well-known industrial section of town.

Warren city leaders are meeting on Wednesday to consider paying their share toward a study that will determine how to spruce up what's known as the Golden Triangle. The industrial hub is connected by Dietz, Bronze and Griswold streets.

Howland Township, Warren, Trumbull County commissioners and the county engineer's office are working together to gather local money to help pay for the study. Each has been asked to contribute $9,000 toward a match for a $75,000 grant to pay for the study.

"It's to get more jobs, and I think at the same time, it's to show that whether it be the city, the county or the township, that we are business friendly," said Eddie Colbert, Ward 7 Warren City Councilman.

Colbert said the study will look at cosmetic improvements including widening roads and adding new street lights.
