Avalon Holdings buying former Avalon Inn

Posted: Updated:
A Trumbull County getaway location is changing hands.  21 News has learned that the Magnuson Hotel chain is selling the Magnuson Grand Hotel in Howland to Avalon Holdings Incorporated.

A Magnuson official confirmed the sale on Thursday.   21 News contacted Avalon Holdings Chief Executive Officer Ron Klingle, who had no immediate comment on the reported transaction.

The Inn last changed hands two years ago, when Magnuson, which represents nearly two thousand hotels in North America and the United Kingdom, announced a partnership that included plans to update the hotel's appearance.

According to the Avalon Holdings website, the Warren based corporation operates Waste Management Services, and also owns the Avalon Golf and Country Club in Howland, which includes operations of the Avalon Lakes Golf Course, Squaw Creek Golf Course, and Buhl Golf Course.
