Grove City College ranked among "Best for the Money"

Posted: Updated:
GROVE CITY, Pa. -

Money magazine ranks Grove City College in the top 10 percent of “Best Colleges for Your Money” nationally and number six among Pennsylvania schools.

Money looks at the quality of education offered, the cost to attend and how much the average graduate makes five years after earning a degree. It includes a “value added” grade based on the economic and academic profile of the student body and the mix of majors offered.

Grove City College ranks number 58 on the list of 655 schools. The magazine considered more than 1,500 colleges and universities but its rankings only include schools with a higher-than-average graduation rate and bond ratings that indicated financial stability.

Using data from PayScale.com, Money tracked the average earnings of alumni five years after graduating to determine a school’s ranking.

Money also ranks Grove City seventh on its list of most affordable colleges nationally and number 16 on its list of best liberal arts colleges.

A year’s tuition at Grove City College is $15,550, about half the cost of comparable private colleges, according to the University.
