Strong winds cause damage in Mercer County

Strong winds uprooted trees in the Shenango Valley Tuesday. Residents reported trees down in Wheatland and Hermitage.

Trees were uprooted on Paul Street around 5:30 p.m.

There are reports of eight to ten trees down in the Shenango Valley.

In Farrell, basketball hoops and fences were apparently damaged.

PennDot was still being notified about road debris on Scrubgrass Road on Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service says it was wind damage.

They will not be investigating.
