Cause of Beaver Township blaze determined

Posted: Updated:

Investigators have determined the cause of Tuesday's fire at the industrial building at the intersection of State Routes 164 and 165.

Beaver Township Fire Chief Russ Osbourn said the blaze broke out due to electrical problems in the shop area of the Industrial Shredders portion of the building where the shredders are made. Damage to that particular business was extensive while three of the other businesses housed on the second floor sustained minor fire and water damage.

A monetary amount for the damages has yet to be determined.

Firefighters from several communities were on the scene, battling flames for several hours on Tuesday.

The building houses several buildings including Industrial Shredders, Buckeye Civil Design, Green Building Pros and Hazel Realty.
