FARRELL, Pa. -

Southwest Regional police are looking for a suspect wanted for assault and attempted  kidnapping in Wheatland. An arrest warrant has been issued for 34-year-old Timothy D. Jackson of Farrell.

Police say Jackson attacked a woman as she was trying to get away from him along the 100 block of Fleetwood Court on Saturday.

According to police, the victim had her child with her as Jackson tried to make her get into a vehicle he was driving. When the victim refused, police say Jackson then got out of his vehicle and grabbed the child and pulled it away from the mother.

After putting the child into his vehicle, Jackson got back out and then allegedly assaulted the female victim again by tackling her in the middle of the street. Jackson then removed the child from the vehicle and fled the scene as police sirens were heard coming into the area.

Jackson is charged with several crimes including Aggravated and Simple Assault, Criminal attempt to commit Kidnapping, Kidnapping, Criminal Trespass, Interference with Custody of Children, Terroristic Threats and Contempt for Violation of Order or Agreement.

The female victim did have some visible injuries but refused medical assistance. The child was not physically harmed.
