Rod Stewart sings to sold out house in Youngstown

Posted: Updated:
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - When all the tickets were counted and the concert was underway it became official. Legendary singer Rod Stewart performed to a sellout crowd at the Covelli Centre.

According to Covelli Centre Executive Director Eric Ryan, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Grammy Winner sang before just under 6,000 fans Sunday evening.

“It is remarkable to have another iconic musician grace our stage and we cannot express our gratitude enough to the community for selling out another show at the Covelli Centre,” Ryan said.

Tickets for the concert ranged in price from $40 to $175.

Ticket sales for Stewart's first appearance in Youngstown were still behind those of Elton John, who sold a record setting 7,600 seats for his February performance. Most of those tickets were sold in just a half hour after they went on sale.

Elton John's first performance at the Covelli Centre in 2010 also sold out quickly as well.
