Ohio man sentenced to up to 135 years for 7 rapes

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND (AP) - A northeast Ohio man who pleaded guilty to raping seven women between 1993 and 2002 has been sentenced to up to 135 years in prison.

Sixty-nine-year-old Robert Green of Cleveland Heights pleaded guilty to the rape charges in May. He was tied to the crimes through DNA testing done as part of the Ohio attorney general's initiative to process previously untested rape kits.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Pamela Barker sentenced Green to serve at least five years for each of the seven counts. For five of the counts she set a sentence of up to 25 years.

A message left with Green's attorney was not immediately returned Wednesday.
