Authorities have rounded up all three inmates who escaped from an Ohio prison on Thursday, including the convicted killer of three Ohio students at a high school cafeteria.

45-year-old Clifford E Opperud was located by a search team around four a.m. Friday, more than two hours after 19-year-old T.J. Lane was taken into custody.

Lane is serving three life sentences for killing three students in a cafeteria at Chardon High School, east of Cleveland. He was 17 at the time.

The three inmates escaped from the Allen County Correctional Institution shortly before 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

A search that included tracking dogs, helicopters and manpower from the local police, sheriff's department and a special unit from the Ohio Highway Patrol found Lane not far from the prison.

Authorities say Lane was armed with a pitchfork when taken into custody. He was immediately returned to the prison.

Opperud is in prison for a burglary and kidnapping committed in Warren County, Ohio. His sentence is set to expire in 2023. The third escapee was captured earlier.

Chardon superintendent Michael Hanlon Jr. announced on the school website that classes at all schools are canceled on Friday. "Our thoughts and prayers today go out to the families of Demetrius, Russell and Danny and all others affected by the tragedy as well as by the troubling events from Thursday evening," wrote Hanlon.

The school district is also offering  social and emotional support for students, staff and community. The Chardon High School and Chardon Middle School buildings will be open with counseling and other support service available in each school.
