Hollywood Gaming: What you need to know to go

The Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course opens its doors to the public at noon on Wednesday, September 17.  The $250-million venue is operated by Penn National Gaming.  The racino will celebrate a second grand opening on Monday, November 24, when thoroughbred racing begins on the new one-mile all-weather racetrack and grandstand, which includes more than 1,000 enclosed seats.


Here's what you need to know if you plan to go on Wednesday:

One-mile track and grandstand with live thoroughbred racing starting Nov. 24

Minimum age:

You must be at least 21 to be on the gaming floor

18 or older to bet on the horse races.

All ages allowed inside the racing grandstand and Skybox restaurant.

Tobacco policy:

Hollywood Gaming is a non-smoking workplace. However, officials say there is a covered and heated patio equipped with 20 VLT's designated for guests who wish to smoke.
