After nearly two and a half years, there may be justice for a Detroit man who was gunned down on Warren's southeast side.

The trial for 25-year-old Lamont Salter was set for Monday at the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas, under Judge Wyatt W. McKay.

The Trumbull County Grand Jury indicted Salter last year for the fatal shooting of Dshawn Scott – a 35-year-old father of two. Scott was gunned down at his home on Charles Avenue Southeast on July 9, 2012.

Salter faces charges of murder, kidnapping, burglary and weapons violations.

He is currently in prison, serving a five year sentence for burglary and weapons crimes.
