PennDOT closes Worth Township bridge for replacement

Rehabilitation of the bridge on Route 965 in Worth Township, Mercer County, is underway and the bridge is now closed.

The bridge is located about a half of a mile west of Route 173 and about two and a half miles east of Route 62.

According to PennDOT, Work will include replacement and widening of the bridge deck.

A detour is required during construction. The posted detour uses Route 173, Scrubgrass Road (Route 2014), and Springfield Church Road (Route 2007).

Work is expected to be completed and the road opened to traffic by August 7, 2015.

The existing 15-foot-long bridge was built in 1934. Approximately 1,138 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.
