Children home alone during Sharon burglary

Posted: Updated:
SHARON, Pa. -

Police are continuing their investigation into a burglary reported by two children who were at home alone.

Officers were called to a home on the 300 block of Independence Avenue Thursday after the children, ages 12 and 9, called 9-1-1 to report a burglary in progress.

The children told officers they had heard a male voice inside the home.

Police checked all the doors and windows and found them to be secure, however officers discovered that some jewelry was missing from the home.

Neighbors reported seeing a white male in his twenties in the area.

He is described as having brown hair, wearing jeans and a brightly colored shirt like those worn by construction workers.

The neighbors also report seeing a dark in color pickup truck in the driveway.
