Sharon Police: Intoxicated woman endangered children

Posted: Updated:

A Sharon woman is accused of endangering her children while intoxicated Friday night.

Nicole Pumphrey, 28, was arrested after police observed her walking down the middle of the street with three children and a stroller just after 9:00 p.m.

Police say they told Pumphrey to move to the sidewalk after seeing her walk into the back of a parked car.

After officers approached her, they noticed another small child in the stroller and determined the suspect was incapable of taking care of her children in her intoxicated state.  The four children were handed over to a relative who arrived at the scene.

Pumphrey was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of children, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

She is currently held in Mercer County Jail where she awaits her court date.
