Construction begins on four Mercer Country roads Monday

Improvements to four Mercer Country roads are scheduled to begin Monday.

Work will include milling and paving. Drainage, curb ramps, guide rails and pavement markings will also be updated and new loop sensors and pedestrian push buttons at traffic signals will be installed along roads in Farrell, Sharpsville, Sharon and Hermitage. 

The project will resurface the following:

  • Roemer Boulevard in the City of Farrell from Martin Luther King Boulevard (Route 718) to New Castle Avenue (Route 518).
  • Walnut Street (Route 3018) from West Main Street (Route 518) in Sharpsville Borough to Tamarack Drive in South Pymatuning Township.
  • Clark Street (Route 3012) in the City of Sharon from Sharpsville Avenue (Route 518) to Water Avenue (Route 718).
  • Hazen Road (Route 3016) from Forker Boulevard/South 10th Street (Route 3021) to Buhl Farm Drive/South Mercer Avenue (Route 3025) in Sharpsville Borough and the City of Hermitage.

There are no detours anticipated, but drivers will experience lane restrictions controlled by flaggers.

Work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, October 23rd.
