A former Boardman Center Middle School teacher is going to jail after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual battery.

A judge in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court sentenced 58 year-old Jay Dana to 75 days in jail on Thursday.

Dana originally faced three counts of rape for allegedly having sex with three woman who were impaired by alcohol or other substances.

The victims were women Dana had dated. Two shared details of their nightmare in court.

"I put my own shame, my own embarrassment, my own humility aside to get this story out to as many people as possible," said one victim. "Not to get sympathy or attention but, rather to make sure his name is out there as publicly as possible to make sure he doesn't commit this act on anyone else."

The victim said she went out on a date with Dana eight years ago. She blacked out repeatedly after being given a drink.

"My next recollection is of him standing over me, me on my back, holding my pants above me saying put these on, put these on. Once again, I'm laying there thinking why are they off?" the victim recalled. "The following day I felt like I was under the effects of cough medicine very dehydrated, very dry mouth and the thought struck me (that) there must have been something in that drink."

Another victim, said she lived in fear after going out with Dana and not being able to function for days after.

"It was shortly after I drank from that one glass of wine I did not remember anything else. I woke up the next morning, alone, naked and vomiting so violently I thought I was going to aspirate and die," said the victim.

The former English teacher and basketball coach will also be placed on probation for three years and ordered to register as a tier three sex offender.

Before moving to Florida, Dana lived in Columbiana.
