From the moment you walk in the Wick Tower, it’s hard not to be impressed.

"I think what we've done is honored the history of the building and all the materials that they used, the marble, the crown molding, the detail," said Jackie Marchiando, Interior Designer for the NYO Property group.

You can also see those details in the full furnished apartments. They have a modern feel, simple but classy.

NYO is responsible for renovating the project. Dominick Marchionda, founder the NYO Property group says the project has been a labor of love and after numerous challenges, is incredibly rewarding to see the finished product.

"You take a project like this and a building like this and it’s on the verge of demolition, but then seeing it come back to life, the people walking in and appreciating the architecture and the design of all the hard work and the fruit of our labor you know," said Marchionda.

One bedroom units start at $1150 a month, while a three bedroom unit will set you back $2100 a month. That cost does include all utilizes, cable and internet.

About half of the 33 units are currently occupied. Marchionda says demand is high for people wanting to live in downtown Youngstown.

"A large portion of the audience is definitely the student population, they want to be downtown, they're telling us right now, that’s where they want to live," said Marchianda. "I mean we have buildings on the upper end of campus, but they're saying they want to be down here. But the young professionals, they want to work, live and play right here."
