U.S. Marshals have arrested a Girard robbery suspect who authorities described as armed and dangerous.
The U.S. Marshal's Task Force picked up 23-year-old Dave Willilams in Youngstown Friday afternoon.
Girard Police had been looking for Williams since armed robberies at the Dollar General on Churchill Road and the Hiland Dairy on Highland Avenue last week.
Police say they believe Williams robbed the Hiland Dairy for a second time Wednesday night.
No one was injured in any of the robberies, but the robber showed the clerk a gun.
The Task Force profiled Williams in the media Thursday afternoon in an attempt to generate tips from the public.
Members of the public began notifying the U.S. Marshals tipline of sightings of the fugitive.
The Task Force began surveillance in the areas they believed Williams may be hiding.
They spotted Williams in a vehicle in the area of South Ave and Midlothian Blvd. The Task Force along with officers from the Youngstown Police Department approached the vehicle as Williams attempted to flee on foot.
Williams was captured after a brief foot pursuit and taken to the Mahoning County Jail awaiting a court appearance.
Williams was released from prison last March after serving two years of a three year sentence for a previous robbery. He is still on probation.
