Union protests at Chick-fil-A work site in Boardman

Posted: Updated:

A local union brought a giant inflatable rat out to protest the use of out of state workers for construction of an upcoming Chick-fil-A location in Boardman.

Union members of Bricklayers Local 8 and their inflatable rat lined up to protest along Boardman Poland Road on Tuesday morning.

Members held signs saying the Kentucky company, LeDane Residential and Commercial Contractors, working on the project does not use members of the local members. They also had signs that said “We protest out of town workers taking our jobs”.

Chick-fil-A officials did not return our call for comment.

The rat, which the union local has owned for about fifteen years, wears a hat bearing the words "easy money".
