ZANESVILLE, Ohio -

A Maryland man was carrying something other than socks and underwear in his luggage when state troopers pulled his car over near Zanesville, Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it seized more than 45 pounds of marijuana, worth approximately $281,486 following a traffic stop in Muskingum County on Friday.

The patrol stopped an Audi A3, with Oregon license plates, for a failure to obey a traffic control device on Interstate 70.

A drug-sniffing canine that was brought in indicated to officers that there was contraband hidden in the car.

A search turned up three pieces of luggage filled with bags of marijuana.

The driver, Clifton A. Futch, 29, of Belcamp, Md., as been charged with trafficking in drugs, a first-degree felony.

If convicted, Futch could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
