New Lordstown made Cruze gets 42 MPG highway rating

Chevrolet says the next generation of the Cruze will be in the showrooms this spring with an EPA sticker boasting 42 miles per gallon on the highway.

According to Emily Moran of Chevrolet Communications, the mileage of the Lordstown made car is a 20 percent improvement over the previous generation base model.

The 1.4 Litre turbo engine with direct fuel injection is rated at 30 MPG in the city for an overal average of 35 MPG.

According to the EPA, the Cruze will travel 100 miles on fewer than three gallons of regular fuel.

The small, fuel efficient car is scheduled to make its Northeast Ohio debut Friday at the Cleveland Auto Show, and will be arrive at local auto dealershilps in early spring according to Lordstown Complex Communications Manager Tom Mock.
