Employee held at gunpoint during Warren business robbery

Posted: Updated:
WARREN, Ohio -

A Warren gas station employee was held at gunpoint during a robbery on Tuesday, police say.

Warren police were called to the BP gas station located on the corner of East Market Street and Laird Avenue Southeast around 10:20 p.m.

An employee told police she was taking the trash out when a man with a bandana over his face pointed a gun at her and made her go back into the store to the cash register.

Witnesses told police that when the employee went to the register, the suspect grabbed the slide on the gun and chambered a round while aiming it at the employee's back.

The victim said the man forced her to take money out of a safe before he ran out of the rear door and leaving in a black Ford Crown Victoria.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station in hopes of identifying a suspect in the case.
