SMITH TOWNSHIP, Mahoning Co., Ohio -

A three vehicle accident killed two people and injured three others in southwestern Mahoning County shortly before 11 a.m.Tuesday.

State Troopers say a woman Julie Gailey, 47 of Sebring, was killed when the Chevrolet HHR she was driving went through a stop sign at Courtney Road and was struck by a GMC Yukon that was traveling on State Route 165.

After being struck by the Yukon, the HHR was struck by a box truck coming from the opposite direction on Route 165.

Robert Gailey, 60, of Sebring was a passenger in the HHR. He was taken to a Canton hospital where he died.

Troopers say the passenger was wearing his seat belt. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Authorities have not released the names of the two who were killed in the crash.

The driver of the Yukon, Alexis Drennen, 31, of Salem was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for treatment of injuries described as non-life threatening.

Two juvenile passengers in the Yukon were taken to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the box truck and his passenger were not injured.

Troopers suspect that alcohol is not a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
