Farmington Township to hold comprehensive plan meeting

Posted: Updated:

Farmington Township is encouraging residents to attend a public meeting about the future of the community.

The Tuesday meeting will give an overview of a comprehensive plan that is designed to guide growth and development in the community over the next 20 years. This plan was designed by Farmington Township and the Trumbull County Planning Commission.

A news release from Farmington Township said comprehensive plans typically include maps, charts and text that analyze existing trends and conditions of growth or decline and make recommendations for the general development of the community. Comprehensive plans also address several specific topics and include a future land use map.

"Planning for the needs of a community, instead of reacting to them, can eliminate chronic problems, save tax dollars and reduce duplication of services,” said Trish Nuskievicz, executive director of the Planning Commission. “The Planning Commission makes it a priority to offer contractual comprehensive planning services to all Trumbull County communities."

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Farmington Fire Department Meeting Room, 131 College Street in West Farmington Village.
